NFL Betting Preview: Week 2 Odds, Trends, and Top Matchups Analysis

The favorites delivered for bettors in Week 1 of the NFL season, posting an 11-4-1 record straight up and a 9-6-1 record against the spread. Can they keep it up in Week 2? You’ll see here in our NFL Week 2 betting preview.

Week 2 kicks off Thursday night with the Baltimore Ravens visiting the Cincinnati Bengals as a 1-point road favorite. Baltimore got off to a good start last week after pummeling the Buffalo Bills 47-3 as a 7.5-point favorite. However, they’re 3-6-1 ATS in their last 10 as a road favorite. Cincinnati has dominated this matchup in recent years with a 7-2 record SU and 6-3 mark ATS in their last nine versus Baltimore.

The game of the week on Sunday looks to be an NFC North showdown between the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. With Aaron Rodgers‘ status undetermined, the Packers are 1.5-point favorites according to NFL odds. Despite last week’s comeback win against Chicago, Green Bay has lost four straight ATS and are 1-5 ATS in their last six at home. Minnesota is 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five versus the Packers. However, the Vikings are just 3-6 ATS in their last nine in Green Bay.

NFL Week 2 Betting Preview: Eagles FG Favorites at Tampa Bay

The Philadelphia Eagles look to extend their winning streak this week as a 3-point road favorite versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Eagles have now won four straight SU and ATS. They’re 4-2 SU and ATS in their last six at Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers upset the New Orleans Saints as a 10-point underdog last week. As a home underdog they’re 4-1 ATS in their last five.

The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets both won last week. They’ll face off in Week 2 with the Jets listed as a 3-point home favorite. Miami enters this one on a five-game road losing streak SU and ATS. The Jets are a surprising 7-2 ATS in their last nine at home, and 6-3-1 ATS in their last 10 against the Dolphins.

The Los Angeles Rams are a heavy 13-point favorite this week at home to the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona is a dismal 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games. Yet, on the road against the Rams, Arizona has won three in a row SU and four straight ATS. The Rams have been a rough bet at home, having lost three straight SU and ATS, and they’re 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14.

NFL Week 2 Betting Preview: Jags Home Underdogs Against Patriots

In a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game, the New England Patriots face the Jacksonville Jaguars as a 2-point road favorite. New England topped Jacksonville 24-20 as an 8-point favorite in last year’s title game. The Patriots have now won eight straight against the Jags overall. Their ATS mark in those games is 5-3. Jacksonville has won six straight at home overall with a 4-2 ATS record. As a home underdog, the Jaguars are 3-5 SU and 5-3 ATS in their last eight.

Week 2 closes out with a bit of a dud on Monday night as the Chicago Bears host the Seattle Seahawks as a 3.5-point favorite. Despite losing to Green Bay last week, the Bears did cover and have won four of their last five ATS. However, as a home favorite, Chicago is a lackluster 1-6 SU and ATS in their last seven. Seattle has won three straight SU and ATS versus Chicago. However, they head into Monday night 1-4 SU and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
