NFL Totals: Best OVER and UNDER Teams Through Four Weeks

NFL totals bettors can often make on run on streaks to pad their bankrolls. The key, of course, is to latch on to a streak before it ends. It’s still early in the NFL season, so heading into Week 5 here are a few teams that have been money for those betting the OVER and the UNDER.

NFL Totals: Which NFL teams have been the best OVER bet so far?

For the OVER, there have been three teams that have gone a perfect 4-0 through the first four weeks of the season. Those three would be the Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Chiefs aren’t a surprise, considering they boast the top scoring offense in the league, averaging 36.3 points per game. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been breaking records leading the potent Chiefs’ offense.

Next up for the Chiefs are the Jacksonville Jaguars, and NFL odds have this total posted at 49. With the Jaguars owning the top scoring defense in the league allowing only 14 points per game it might look like a time to abandon the OVER for the UNDER. However, the Jaguars are 3-1 OVER on the season.

The Bengals have quietly been the No. 4 scoring offense in the league, averaging 31.5 points per game. Overall, they’ve posted five straight OVER results, and they’re 8-1-3 OVER in their last 12. On deck for the Bengals are the Miami Dolphins with a posted total of 49.5. Miami is 2-2 on the OVER/UNDER on the season and 4-3 OVER in their last seven road games.

The Buccaneers have used a mix of an explosive offense and a terrible defense to post four straight OVER results to start the season. The Tampa Bay offense ranks seventh in scoring, averaging 28 points per game, while the defense is dead last, giving up 34.8 points per game. The Buccaneers are heading into their bye and return in Week 6 to face the Atlanta Falcons, who are 3-1 OVER on the season. Three of the last four between the Falcons and Buccaneers have gone OVER.

NFL Totals: Which NFL teams have been the best UNDER bet so far?

For UNDER bettors, only one team in the NFL has run the table so far. The Arizona Cardinals are 4-0 UNDER thanks to the worst scoring offense in the NFL. Arizona is averaging only 9.3 points per game, which includes a shutout loss against the Los Angeles Rams. Including last season, the Cardinals are 7-1 UNDER in their last eight games.

Coming up for Arizona this week are the San Francisco 49ers, who are 3-1 OVER on the season so far. The 49ers are 6-1 OVER in their last seven, but that could change this week as they have posted three straight UNDER results versus Arizona and a 6-2 UNDER record in their last eight matchups.

One other team UNDER bettors might want to keep an eye on are the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas is 3-1 UNDER on the season and 11-2 UNDER in their last 13 games. They have a bottom-three scoring offense right now and a top-seven scoring defense heading into this week’s matchup with the Houston Texans. Houston is 6-3 UNDER in their last nine. All four previous matchups between Dallas and Houston have gone UNDER.
