The new NFL season is finally here, just in time to scratch your football betting itch. There are a couple favorites that look like near locks this week, but we’ve also dug up two underdogs that should have enough bite to take down the chalk in their matchups.

The Texans head into this one having won six straight versus the Jaguars while going 4-2 ATS. In their last 11 games as the favorite the Texans are a perfect 11-0 SU and 8-2-1 ATS. The Jaguars are terrible on the road at 1-10 SU and 5-5-1 ATS in their last 11.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns
Game Line: Cleveland +9.5 | OU 47

The Steelers, like the rest of the NFL, have owned the Browns in recent years. Pittsburgh is 8-1 SU and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine versus Cleveland. They’re also 13-3 SU and 8-5-3 ATS in their last 16 road games against the Browns. Cleveland begins the season with a 1-9 SU record and a 1-8-1 ATS mark in their last 10 games. They’re also 1-8 SU and ATS in their last nine at home.

Oakland Raiders @ Tennessee Titans
Game Line: Tennessee -1.5 | OU 50.5

The Raiders visit Tennessee as an underdog that should pay off for bettors. Last season before Derek Carr’s season-ending injury the Raiders were 8-1 SU and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games. With Carr, Oakland was 6-1 SU and ATS on the road and 3-2 SU and ATS as the underdog. The Titans don’t do well as a home favorite and in their last 11 games they are 3-7-1 ATS.

Atlanta Falcons @ Chicago Bears
Game Line: Chicago +7 | OU 49

Let’s see, we have last year’s No. 1 scoring offense in the league against the No. 24 ranked scoring defense. That’s going to go really well. Add in that Atlanta is 8-1 ATS in their last nine on the road while Chicago is 4-15 SU in their last 19 home games and you’ve got a blowout on your hands. The OVER may also play as Atlanta has gone OVER the posted total in nine straight and 13 of their last 14 games.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Redskins
Game Line: Washington +1 | OU 47.5

The Eagles are dreadful on the road. Philadelphia has dropped seven in a row SU away from home, at 1-6 ATS. In its last five games as a road favorite Philadelphia is 1-4 SU. Washington has won five in a row SU and six straight ATS versus the Eagles and four of those SU wins came as the underdog. In their last seven games as a home underdog overall Washington is 6-1 SU.
