NFL ATS Records: Best and Worst ATS Teams Through Three Weeks

Through the first three weeks of the NFL season, three teams have been perfect against the spread and have paid off bettors. Meanwhile, two have gone winless ATS and tanked bankrolls. Check out a few of these NFL ATS records.

Who Have The Best NFL ATS Records So Far?

We’ll start with the winners, and leading the way are the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams are 3-0 both straight up and ATS and they were favored in all three games. It’s a remarkable turnaround for a Rams squad that finished last season with three straight ATS losses.

Going 4-0 ATS could be difficult for the Rams, though. They will face a tough Minnesota Vikings team in need of redemption as a 7-point home favorite on Thursday night.

One team that is surprisingly 3-0 ATS so far this season are the Cleveland Browns. The Browns won only four games ATS all of last season. Cleveland covered as the underdog in their first two games. Last week against the New York Jets, they were listed as a home favorite for the first time since 2015. They won 21-17 as a 3-point chalk.

The Browns return to underdog status again this week as a 2.5-point road underdog against the Oakland Raiders, according to NFL odds. That could be good news for the Browns, as the Raiders have covered at home only twice in their last seven games.

The last team to start the season 3-0 ATS are the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have been a strong option for bettors with a 7-1 ATS record in their last eight games. They’re also 7-1 ATS in their last eight on the road, and have a road game this week against the Denver Broncos. There is one problem. The Chiefs are road favorites in that game and in their last three as a road favorite they’re 0-3 SU.

Who Have The Worst NFL ATS Records So Far?

On the other side, the two teams that have started the season 0-3 ATS are the Houston Texans and the San Francisco 49ers.

The Texans have been a complete trainwreck for bettors for a long time. They’ve lost eight straight games ATS and nine in a row SU. Houston is also on a five-game ATS losing streak on the road, where they’ve dropped nine in a row SU. Even being listed as a home favorite means very little to the Texans, as they are 3-6 ATS in their last nine.

The 49ers’ season is basically a write-off already thanks to injuries. Before the season started, they lost running back Jerick McKinnon for the year, and last week their worst nightmare happened after quarterback Jimmy Garropolo was lost for the season.

Bettors started the season high on San Francisco after they finished last year 4-1 ATS in their last five games. With their injuries, there’s a good chance San Francisco could be a home underdog often for the rest of the season. That’s also bad news, as they are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games as a home underdog.
