NFL Betting Props: Chiefs, Chargers, Raiders, Bills Odds

With four weeks remaining in the NFL regular season the playoff picture is clear as mud right now. That’s especially true in the AFC West.

And the sportsbooks have odds on all three playoff hopefuls in the AFC West making the playoffs. For anyone unaware, those three teams are the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Oakland Raiders, who all head into Week 14 with 6-6 records.

Let’s start with the Chiefs. At one point it looked like the Chiefs might run away with the division after they started the season 5-0. Since then they have only one win in their last seven games, including losing four straight. The oddsmakers currently have them listed at -110 to make the playoffs and -130 to miss out. It’s possible the Chiefs’ playoff fate could be determined in the next two weeks with back-to-back games against the Raiders and the Chargers.

The Chargers are playing their best football of the season right now but the oddsmakers aren’t overly impressed yet. On the playoff props the Chargers are listed at +120 to make the playoffs and -160 to miss out. That’s despite winning three straight and six of their last eight games. Another win this week looks promising with a matchup against the Washington Redskins as a 6-point favorite before an important road game against the Chiefs.

Oakland is also on the rebound right now having won four of their last six after a rough patch that saw them lose four straight. Oakland is getting the worst odds of the three AFC West contenders at +600 to make the playoffs and -1200 to miss out. Their remaining schedule likely has something to do with that as they’ll run quite the gauntlet against Kansas City, the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chargers. Their games against the Chiefs, Eagles and Chargers are all on the road where they’re 2-3 this season and 3-6 in their last nine.

Outside the AFC West the other team oddsmakers are focusing on are the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo hasn’t played in a playoff game since they lost the Music City Miracle to the Tennessee Titans in 1999. The oddsmakers expect the streak of playoff misses to continue after listing them at +500 to make the playoffs and -900 to miss the postseason.

Right now the Bills are on the outside looking in with a 6-6 record after losing four of their last five games. They have no chance of winning their division with the Patriots one win away from clinching. That leaves the wild card as their only hope. The two wild card spots currently belong to the Jacksonville Jaguars at 8-4 and the Baltimore Ravens at 7-5.

Buffalo has three winnable games remaining with the Indianapolis Colts coming up this week and two games against the Miami Dolphins. They also have a game in New England where they’ve won twice in their last 16 tries.

Not only will Buffalo need to win, they’ll need Baltimore or Jacksonville to falter. Baltimore has a pretty easy schedule with their road game against Pittsburgh this week their only real challenge. The Jaguars are still in the hunt in the AFC South, but have two tough matchups left against the Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans.
