NFL Betting Lines: Week 6 Odds, Trends, and Top Matchups Preview

Week 6 of the NFL season begins Thursday night with the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Carolina Panthers as a 3-point road underdog.

Carolina is a solid 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games, but at home they’re only 2-3-2 ATS in their last seven. The Eagles have won three in a row straight up at 2-1 ATS, but on the road they’re a lackluster 2-8 SU and 3-7 ATS in their last 10. In this matchup the favorite has won four straight SU and ATS.

Looking ahead to Sunday the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings square off with the Packers listed as a 3.5-point road favorite. The Packers have been money for totals bettors taking the OVER with four straight OVER results and 11 in their last 12 games. As a home underdog the Vikings have been a nice grab for bettors at 5-1 ATS in their last six.

The Jacksonville Jaguars parlayed their upset win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last week into being listed as 2.5-point home favorites this week against the Los Angeles Rams. The Jaguars are 6-2 ATS in their last eight, but as a home favorite they’ve lost three in a row SU. The Rams are a lackluster 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games, but they’ve won four straight ATS versus Jacksonville.

The Steelers are a 4-point road underdog this week against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are also undefeated ATS this season and they’re 4-1 ATS in their last five home games against Pittsburgh. The Steelers are 2-3-1 ATS in their last six as a road underdog and they’ve been a strong UNDER play lately at 7-1 UNDER in their last eight.

Not surprisingly the New England Patriots are big 10-point road favorites this week versus the New York Jets. New York has won three straight SU and ATS with two wins as the underdog, and they’re 4-1 ATS in their last five as a home underdog. New England is 10-2 SU in their last 12 versus New York, but only 4-7-1 ATS, and they’re 0-4 ATS in their last four road games against the Jets.

And the Atlanta Falcons return from their bye week Sunday to face the Miami Dolphins as an 11.5-point home favorite. Atlanta is 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight versus Miami and six of their last eight matchups have gone UNDER the posted total. Miami has posted five straight UNDER results this season and they’re 0-10 SU in their last 10 road games against teams with winning records.
