NFL Betting Futures Update: NFC Division Odds

Two divisions in the NFC are pretty easy to call according to the oddsmakers, while the other two are a coin toss that could go either way. Check out how the NFC Division odds look going into Week 3.

NFC Division Odds: Rams Running Away With The West

We’ll start with what the oddsmakers setting the NFC division odds are designating the easiest division to call – the NFC West. In the NFC West, it’s the Los Angeles Rams’ division to lose. The Rams are heavy favorites on the futures at -350, and who can blame them after the way they dominated the Arizona Cardinals in a shutout win last week.

The only other team being given anything close to a chance are the San Francisco 49ers at +333. If you want to throw your money away, you can also get the Seattle Seahawks at +1200 and the Arizona Cardinals at +5000.

NFC Division Odds: Eagles Favored to Repeat in East

In the NFC East, the oddsmakers expect the Philadelphia Eagles to repeat and have listed them as a -150 favorite. Philadelphia hit a bump in the road last week with an upset loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but will get a much needed jolt this week with the return of starting quarterback Carson Wentz.

Coming in behind the Eagles on the NFC East futures are the Dallas Cowboys at +300. Following a lackluster start to the season against the Carolina Panthers, the Cowboys’ defense swarmed the New York Giants in a win last week. We may not get a real read on Dallas until Week 8 when they face the Eagles.

The longshots in the NFC East are the Washington Redskins at +650 and the New York Giants at +700.

NFC Division Odds: It’s a Two-Team Race in the North

The NFC North is a two-team race between the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. The Vikings are currently the favorite at even money, while the Packers check in at +150. Would the odds be the same if the two division rivals hadn’t tied last week?

The Packers or Vikings have won the division the last seven seasons. Unless something shocking happens in Chicago or Detroit, that streak should continue. If you are wondering about the ever-improving Bears, they’ve seen their divisional odds move to +600. Unless they can deliver an upset over Minnesota or Green Bay, they likely won’t get much higher. The Lions are underdogs at home on Sunday night against the New England Patriots, according to NFL odds. They’re also a huge underdog in the NFC North at +1600.

NFC Division Odds: Tight Battle on NFC South Futures

The toughest division to call right now is the NFC South. The current favorites are the Atlanta Falcons at +175. They’re followed closely by the New Orleans Saints at +240, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at +300 and the Carolina Panthers at +400.

The Falcons and Saints were expected to battle for the division, but no one had the Buccaneers on their radar entering the season. That changed after Tampa Bay pulled off back-to-back upset wins over the Saints and Eagles. Are the Buccaneers for real? Will Ryan Fitzpatrick retain the starting quarterback job when Jameis Winston returns from suspension? Their Monday night matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers may give us some insight on both questions. If you are thinking of placing a futures bet on the Buccaneers now may be the time.
