NFL Betting Futures: AFC Division Odds Reveal Tight Races

The AFC Division odds say that this conference is really too close to call. This is especially true in the North, where it’s a complete logjam.

Heading into Week 7 of the season, the Baltimore Ravens are tied atop the division with the Cincinnati Bengals at 4-2. And on the latest AFC division futures, the Ravens are the favorites at +130. You might expect the Bengals to come next. But, it is actually the Pittsburgh Steelers at +190, then the Bengals check in at +230. The Browns at 2-3-1 are out of it, according to the oddsmakers who have listed them at +4000.

We could get some clarity on the AFC North situation in the coming weeks. The Steelers have back-to-back divisional matchups against Cleveland and Baltimore.

AFC Division Odds: The AFC South Standings are a Logjam

You’ll find another logjam in the AFC South, where the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans are all 3-3. The Jaguars are the favorites on the AFC South futures at +110. They are followed by Houston at +180 and Tennessee at +333. You can also get the Indianapolis Colts at +2500.

The hottest team in the division right now are the Texans, who have won three straight after an 0-3 start. Jacksonville and Tennessee have both lost two in a row in epic fashion. Right on time, Houston faces Jacksonville this week in a matchup that should have major consequences for the division standings. NFL odds have the Jaguars favored at home in that one.

In the AFC East, the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins are tied for first place with both at 4-2, but the oddsmakers have already counted the Dolphins, and everyone that isn’t New England, out. The Patriots are heavy -1000 favorites to win the AFC East again.

The Patriots have only played one divisional game so far, a complete drubbing of the Dolphins, and despite the New York Jets stringing together a few impressive games, the Patriots running the table in the division would not be a surprise. In case you think the Patriots’ reign atop the AFC East may end this year, you can get the Dolphins at +650, the Jets at +2000, and the Buffalo Bills at +8000.

AFC Division Odds: Can Chiefs Run Away With AFC West?

Finally, the AFC West looked like it was going to be easily won by the Kansas City Chiefs. At 5-1, the Chiefs are tops in the division and big favorites according to the oddsmakers at -400. However, the Chiefs aren’t running away with the division, as the Los Angeles Chargers, at 4-2 and +275 respectively, are only one game behind them.

The Chargers have won three straight, and have what looks to be an easy schedule coming up with five straight games against teams without winning records. If you’re betting on the AFC West, circle Week 15 on your calendar, as that’s the next time the Chiefs and Chargers will meet up on the gridiron. That game could have a massive effect on these AFC Division odds.
