NFL Betting: Broncos and Seahawks Lead NFL Wins Prop

NFLlogo_mattmcgeeThe Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks led the National Football League in victories in the regular season last year, and they’re also atop the wins OVER/UNDER prop on the NFL betting odds at the sportsbooks heading into the 2014 campaign.

Seattle and Denver posted identical 13-3 records in 2013 en route to their lopsided Super Bowl matchup, and the sportsbooks now have them listed as the top two teams on the wins OVER/UNDER prop for the upcoming season – with Denver the leader at 11.5, and Seattle trailing just behind Peyton Manning and company at 11.

The San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, and Green Bay Packers are all listed with a wins OVER/UNDER of 10.5 for those betting on the NFL this offseason, with the Niners and Patriots having won a dozen games each last season and the Packers picking up just eight wins after they lost star starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers for a large chunk of the regular season. Green Bay, though, still made the playoffs last year, and Rodgers is now back and healthy.

The Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints then have a wins OVER/UNDER of 9.5 at the sportsbooks, with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cincinnati Bengals both at 9 on that NFL online betting line, and all of the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and Pittsburgh Steelers at 8.5. Of those teams the Panthers had the most victories last season with 12, while Atlanta looks to bounce back from a four-win season.

The San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, and Kansas City Chiefs all currently have a wins OVER/UNDER of 8 for the 2014 season, with the Chiefs (11 wins) and Chargers (nine wins) both coming off seasons in which they made the playoffs.

Below the .500 mark, the Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, Washington Redskins, and Houston Texans have a wins OVER/UNDER of 7.5 for 2014, with the New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Tennessee Titans at 7, the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns at 6.5, and the Minnesota Vikings at 6 for those who bet on the NFL in the offseason. The Texans had the fewest wins in the entire league last season, picking up just two victories in their 16 games. Washington had the second-fewest wins in 2014 with three.

Finally, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Oakland Raiders round out the wins OVER/UNDER prop list for the upcoming season at just 4.5 at the sportsbooks, with both of those teams winning just four times in 2013.

The 2014 NFL season kicks off on Thursday, September 4 with the defending-champion Seahawks getting a visit from the Packers, with Indianapolis at Denver in the first Sunday Night Football game of the season, and an opening Monday Night Football doubleheader of the Giants at Detroit and San Diego at Arizona.

The 2014 NFL preseason starts August 3 with Buffalo at the Giants in the Hall of Fame Game.
