Eagles Among Division Favorites on Updated Odds

The Philadelphia Eagles have pulled two victories out of the fire in the first two weeks of the season, and as a result they sit as the favorites on the NFL betting odds at the sportsbooks to win the NFC East division title this season.

Nick Foles and the Eagles came back to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-17 in Week 1 as a 10-point favorite, then knocked off the Indianapolis Colts 30-27 as a 3-point underdog on Monday Night Football in Week 2. With the other three NFC East teams having already suffered at least one loss through the first two weeks of the season, the Eagles are pegged as the -275 favorites on the division title odds.

Washington and Dallas, both 1-1 on the season, are then at +500 and +550 on those NFL betting lines, with the 0-2 New York Giants already a division longshot at +1400 on that list.

By far the biggest favorite on the updated division futures at the sportsbooks, however, are the Denver Broncos at -800 to win the AFC West. Peyton Manning and company haven’t managed to cover a spread so far this season, but they’re still 2-0 and atop their division standings. The San Diego Chargers, at 1-1 on the season, sit at +400 on those NFL online betting lines, with the Kansas City Chiefs at +2500 and the Oakland Raiders at +6600 – the Chiefs and the Raiders are both winless heading into Week 3 of the season.

The tightest division race in the NFL – at least according to the posted odds at the sportsbooks – is in the AFC South, where the 2-0 Houston Texans and the 0-2 Indianapolis Colts both sit at +120. Andrew Luck and company missed their chance to collect their first win of the season on Monday Night Football when they gave up their lead to the Eagles. The 1-1 Tennessee Titans are at +500 on that list, with the 0-2 Jacksonville Jaguars trailing at +4000.

Like the Colts, the New Orleans Saints are also 0-2 to start the season, but they still have a slim lead on the NFC South division title odds – New Orleans is at +130, with the 2-0 Carolina Panthers just a step back of them on that list at +150. The 1-1 Atlanta Falcons sit at +350 on the odds to win the NFC South, with the 0-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers the +2000 longshots.

The Green Bay Packers are the -110 favorites over the +275 Chicago Bears on the NFC North odds, with the -250 New England Patriots ahead of the +500 Buffalo Bills on the AFC East odds, and the -140 Cincinnati Bengals ahead of the +350 Baltimore Ravens on the AFC North odds. The Seattle Seahawks are then the -160 favorites over the +275 San Francisco 49ers and the +450 Arizona Cardinals on the odds to win the NFC West this season. The Cardinals are the only team in the NFC West to start the season with a 2-0 record.
