Chiefs vs Colts Betting Preview

The Colts will visit the Chiefs Saturday as a 5-point underdog at Bovada Sportsbook. Last week they were a 1.5-point underdog in their 21-7 win over the Texans. That was the Colts fifth straight win straight up, during which they are 4-1 against the spread.

In their last 11, Indianapolis is 10-1 SU and 7-3-1 ATS. As an underdog they’ve won two straight, but looking back further it’s a different story, as they are 3-11 SU and 6-8 ATS in their last 14.

Can the Chiefs Cover the Spread?

The Chiefs have been a home playoff favorite just six times since 1980 and they have covered the spread ZERO times. They have lost the last four outright. They started the season as one of the best bets in the league at 7-0 ATS. Since then they’ve been a nightmare for bettors with a 2-6-1 ATS mark in their last nine.

They begin the playoffs 3-3 SU and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six and hoping to right what has been a sinking ship in the postseason for years. In their last 12 playoff games the Chiefs are 1-11 SU and ATS.

At home they’ve dropped six straight in the postseason and eight in a row ATS. As a playoff favorite the Chiefs are 1-5 SU in their last six and 1-7 ATS in their last eight.

Can the Colts Cover the Spread?

History is on the Colts side in this one as they have dominated this matchup for years. Indianapolis is 13-4 SU and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 versus the Chiefs. They’ve also owned the Chiefs on the road with a 7-1 record SU and ATS in their last eight games in Kansas City.

In the postseason the Colts are 4-0 SU and ATS against the Chiefs, including a 45-44 win as 1.5-point underdog the last time they met up in 2014.
