Panthers Pass Patriots on the Super Bowl 50 Odds

Riding a two-game losing streak the New England Patriots have slipped behind the unbeaten Carolina Panthers on the updated odds to win Super Bowl 50 at the online sportsbooks.

Favored on the Super Bowl futures for much of the season, the Patriots have dropped back-to-back games to the Denver Broncos and the Philadelphia Eagles and now find themselves at +450 on the odds to win Super Bowl 50 at the sportsbooks.

The Panthers, meanwhile, pushed their winning streak to a dozen games with a 41-38 win at New Orleans this past weekend, and now hold down the top spot on the odds to win Super Bowl 50 at +400. Carolina plays host to Atlanta this week, while New England is on the road at Houston.

The Arizona Cardinals, 10-2 on the season, are third on the latest Super Bowl odds at +550, and they’ll be up first this week as they host the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football. The Cardinals ride a six-game winning streak into Thursday night’s game.

Arizona’s NFC West rival, the Seattle Seahawks, are then right behind them on the futures at +800. After a slow start to the season the Seahawks have won three games in a row and five of their last six games.

The Broncos and the Cincinnati Bengals are tied with the Patriots for the top record in the AFC at 10-2 heading into Week 14 of the season, and they’re at +850 and +900, respectively, on the latest Super Bowl 50 odds. Nobody else in the AFC has more than seven wins on the season.

One of those seven-win AFC teams is Pittsburgh, with the Steelers at +1000 on the Super Bowl 50 odds along with the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay, at 8-4 on the season, is tied with the Minnesota Vikings for first place in the NFC North; the Vikings, however, are still back of the pack at +4000 on the Super Bowl futures.

The Kansas City Chiefs, who have won six games in a row to improve to 7-5 on the season and get back into playoff contention, are at +2200 on the latest Super Bowl 50 odds, while the Indianapolis Colts sit at +4000 as they try to hold off the Houston Texans (+10000) for first place in the AFC South. Both Indy and Houston are 6-6 on the year.

The New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Redskins are all 5-7 on the season but are tied for first place in the NFC East. New York is at +5000 on the Super Bowl 50 odds along with the 4-8 Dallas Cowboys, while Philadelphia sits at +6600, and Washington is at +10000.

The New York Jets, a Wild Card contender in the AFC, sit at +5000 on the championship futures, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Buffalo Bills at +10000, the Atlanta Falcons at +15000, and the Chicago Bears at +25000. Everyone else still on the Super Bowl 50 board sits at +30000 odds or higher.
