Super Bowl 50 Prop Bets – Cam Newton, Peyton Manning Odds

Quarterbacks Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers and Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos are the two obvious favorites to win Super Bowl 50 MVP honors at 10/13 and 11/4 betting odds, respectively.

However, there are also myriad other props you can wager on involving the two signal callers for the big game.

Newton accounted for an NFL-best 45 touchdowns during the regular season (35 passing and 10 rushing), and he became the first quarterback to ever throw for more than 300 yards and run for two scores in a 49-15 rout of the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship Game.

He rushed for 636 yards during the regular season (40 per game) and is +275 (bet $100 to win $275) to break Steve McNair’s record of 64 set in Super Bowl XXXIV. You can also lay -450 (bet $450 to win $100) that Newton will rush for less than 64 yards on Super Bowl Sunday.

In addition, you can bet on how many times he will do his open shirt Superman motion during the game in celebration of a big play. Going OVER 2.5 times is worth EVEN money while UNDER 2.5 is favored at -140.

Meanwhile, Manning is coming off one of the worst statistical seasons of his career, prompting many to believe he will retire after Super Bowl 50 regardless of the result.

He has gone three games without an interception though after throwing 17 in his first nine starts but remains a -165 favorite to throw the first pick of the game with Newton at +135. Manning is -225 to throw at least one interception and +185 to go a fourth straight game without one.

For those who think he will announce his retirement in the post-game interview, you can get +500 or lay -1000 against that happening on national television.

Another interesting prop you can wager on is whether or not either backup quarterback will take a snap in the game. Remember Denver’s Brock Osweiler started seven games for Manning when he was recovering from a foot injury and appeared in eight overall.

Osweiler was an important part of the team in the regular season, unlike Carolina’s Derek Anderson, who completed just four of six passes for 36 yards and rushed for minus-2 yards on seven carries in three combined appearances off the bench.

You can get +200 that either of them will see action in Super Bowl 50 or lay -300 that they will not.
