Super Bowl 50 Betting Lines – Panthers Settle in as Odds Chalk

With kickoff of Super Bowl 50 nearly upon us, the betting line has settled in with the Carolina Panthers (17-1) sitting as 6-point favorites against the Denver Broncos (14-4). Whether or not the line will go any higher in favor of the Panthers remains to be seen, so underdog bettors should not squander this current wagering opportunity.

The total on the big game is also at a solid number of 45. The UNDER will be a popular parlay pairing with the Broncos, who have already started to see their moneyline value drop to +165 (bet $100 to win $165). That number will likely continue to shrink as the public tries to get the most bang for their buck and ride with Denver’s Peyton Manning in what may be his last game.

Speaking of Manning, the odds of the future Hall of Famer announcing his retirement in the post-game interview have remain unchanged at +500, with the chance of that not happening still -1000. The chances of him crying at any point during the television broadcast are identical with YES +500 and NO -1000.

Many believe he will retire after the big game win or lose, but that does not mean he will make an immediate announcement, hinting that during Super Bowl Media Day earlier in the week.

Early Super Bowl 50 MVP wagering has seen action shift toward other candidates besides Carolina quarterback Cam Newton, who is still the overwhelming favorite at -125. However, his odds have risen slightly while Manning is down to +290 and two key defensive players have also moved up the betting board.

Luke Kuechly of the Panthers and Von Miller of the Broncos are both +1200 to win Super Bowl MVP as linebackers who can impact the game in different ways. Kuechly plays in the middle and has returned an interception for a touchdown in each of his team’s two playoff games so far.

Miller is one of the NFL’s top pass rushers and will be responsible for keeping Newton in the pocket. An upset win by Denver could be due more to the top-ranked defense’s play than how Manning performs.
