Broncos Still Looking for First Payout of 2014 Season

The Denver Broncos have something in common with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers through the first three weeks of this NFL season – they all have a three in the loss column.

The Broncos, however, at least have their three in the ATS loss column, which isn’t great news for their supporters on the NFL betting lines but at least keeps them near the top of the Super Bowl odds at the online sportsbooks. The Jaguars, Raiders, and Buccaneers have all started the season off 0-3 SU, with Jacksonville and Tampa Bay also going 0-3 ATS heading into Week 4 of the NFL’s 2014 campaign.

On the flip side, three teams are 3-0 SU and two teams are 3-0 ATS through the first three weeks of the season – and only the Cincinnati Bengals are in both of those categories. Cincinnati began its season with a 23-16 win over the Ravens as a 1-point underdog, then topped the Falcons 24-10 as a 5.5-point favorite, and beat the Titans 33-7 as a 6.5-point favorite. The Bengals won’t pay off for bettors in Week 4, however, as they have a bye.

The only other perfect ATS team through the first three weeks of the season is the San Diego Chargers, who lost SU against Arizona in Week 1 but managed to cover a 3-point spread in that 18-17 defeat. The Cardinals, though, are still 3-0 SU along with the Bengals and the Philadelphia Eagles, who just missed out on going 3-0 ATS when they fell short of a cover in a 37-34 win over Washington in Week 3 as 4-point favorites on the NFL betting odds.

Nick Foles and the Eagles are one of four NFL teams that have been good NFL betting picks on the OVER so far this season at 3-0 on the totals. Joining Philadelphia on that list are the Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns, and Jacksonville Jaguars – a team that has managed to allow 119 points through their first three games of the season.

The Bengals and Cardinals are two of five teams sitting at 0-3 on the OVER/UNDER in NFL online betting heading into Week 4, with the Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans, and Minnesota Vikings the other three on that list. The Vikings have lost two straight games since running back Adrian Peterson was suspended, scoring a total of just 16 points in those contests.

And while the Broncos haven’t paid out in any week so far this season, they’re still hoping to pay out on the Super Bowl futures at the end of the year. The latest Super Bowl odds at the online sportsbooks have Denver set as the 5/1 second-favorite behind the team that just beat them once again over the weekend – the 15/4 Seattle Seahawks. The Patriots are next at 8/1 on those updated futures, with the Bengals and the Eagles having both climbed up to 10/1.

The winless teams then sit at the bottom of those Super Bowl futures, with the Buccaneers at 500/1, and both the Jaguars and the Raiders at 1000/1 to win the championship this season.
